On the 12th October 2008 we held a sponsored swim for all our clients, past and Present, to help raise some money for 'Guide Dogs for the Blind'. 15 dogs in total took part and between them we raised a fantastic total of £2071.56.

We had prizes for the one who raised the most money and also for the runner up, a grand buffet for the owners to tuck into as well as teas and coffees.

Thanks go to all those dogs and their owners who took part and made the event such a huge success.

Bruno

Bruno is having treatment after Cruciate rupture surgery, the muscle in his leg has reduced considerably and so is now rebuilding the muscle in the hydro pool

Jake

Jake who is now 13 years old has been swimming with us for 14 months. When he first came to see us he was having a great deal of trouble standing up as the muscles in his hind legs had almost totally withered away, so we set about getting him in the pool for his first swim. He managed about 30 seconds on that first swim after which he was well worn out, but after each successive visit his swimming time increased by a few seconds or a minute or two until he was swimming for the full 20 minutes each time. Jake loves his weekly sessions in the pool as it allows him to expend some real energy without any pain and at the same time it maintains what mobility he has thus greatly improving his quality of life.

Taz

Taz suffers from severe stiffness and lameness in his hind legs, this is causing some deformity in the shape of his legs. He is on his fifth swim in this video, and already he has improved greatly from the day he first came in. As his muscles are building so they are helping to straighten his legs up again. After only 3 swims his owner found him up the stairs at home, which is something he hadn't done for a long time and after his 4th Swim Taz was managing to jump up into the car again. He will continue with his swimming sessions for a while yet to continue to improve his muscles and joints by which time he will certainly be enjoying his walks and play times more.
